Dia bermain sebagai Edward Cullen dalam film adaptasi dari Twilight, sebuah novel karya Stephenie Meyer,Dia merasa titik balik keseriusannya berakting dimulai ketika dia mendapat pengakuan sebagai Bast Actor di Stasbourg Internasional Film Festival ( ajang pernghargaan bergengsi tingkat internasional ) lewat film How To Be tahun 2008, Produksi Inggris. .Ia juga menyanyi dan komposer di soundtrack Twilight 2 buah lagu, Never Think dan Let Me Sign.
